How to find the best deals on Toys and Board Games?

Board games and building sets spark creativity and bring families and friends together, yet strong holiday seasonality often drives prices up in December. At CholloLocura we track toy prices on Amazon all year round to alert you when a set hits its true historical low.

What to consider when choosing toys and games

For board games, check the recommended age, player count and average playtime (whether you want quick party games or deeper Euro-style strategy games). For building sets and interactive toys, look for durable materials, CE safety certifications and long-term replay value.

Iconic brands and best times to buy

Global favorites like LEGO, Playmobil, Asmodee, Hasbro, Mattel (Barbie, Hot Wheels) and Funko top wish lists every year. The smartest strategy is to shop between October and November (during Prime Deal Days and Black Friday) before December stock shortages kick in.

Practical tips to save on Toys

• Calculate the price per piece on LEGO sets: A ratio below €0.08 per brick usually signals an outstanding discount off the official RRP.
• Finish holiday toy shopping in November: The most sought-after toys often sell out or jump in price in mid-December.
• Stack multi-buy promotions: Look for 3-for-2 board game and toy events to maximize gift savings.
• Look for Spiel des Jahres award winners: Award-winning family board games guarantee replayability and frequently go on sale.
